Last week, Shopify announced that subscription apps not integrated directly into Shopify Checkout will no longer be able to accept or process subscription orders after October 18, 2024. This means that brands currently using legacy checkouts will have to migrate.Here is everything you need to know. What does this mean for your business? This change will directly impact brands utilizing platforms such as Recharge’s V1 checkout and Bold Subscriptions V1. Brands using these platforms will be required to migrate to the native Shopify Checkout. While migrations can seem tedious, this move will alleviate some common pain points with some of the legacy platforms, like catalog and discount duplications. In addition, Shopify Checkout is completely seamless for your customers. Legacy platforms typically feature a separate checkout, making customers uneasy about completing their purchases. Hey guys, just installed the Yotpo Subscription service on my Shopify Venue theme and so far so good on the back end of things!My only issue is that it now shows on the products page a “Initial Deposit” choice which doesn’t make sense to me. Here’s a screenshot. https://www.shophagwood.com/collections/soaps/products/blaze-orange How do I get rid of this? This doesn’t seem to make sense to me. The launch of Subscriptions marks Yuval Goldstein’s, our Director of New Products fifth year of product development with Yotpo. He originally joined to lead Reviews and Visual UGC after coming fresh from Microsoft, Wix, and a handful of other small startups. Yotpo Subscriptions was born from one question “What is the next step for your business?” What followed was several days of brands voicing the same thing on repeat — they needed to shift to a retention-first approach and were looking for tools that would make that easy. Their current options were clunky, didn’t integrate well into their current marketing tech stack, and made everything feel harder than it should be.
